July 2010 - March by Geraldine Brooks (De)

After reading Year of Wonders, the group was keen to read more by Geraldine Brooks so De picked March for this month's book.... and we were quite pleased about her choice. There is a lot of information on the book and it has been well received since published. Brooks has shown us a different perspective on Little Women by giving a face to the father, Mr March.  We thought his character was rather weak and it was amusing to see the twist in how his wife, Marmee saw the same things towards the end of the book.  Historically, there was much to discuss.... and new things learned.  Recommended.
